Gila River Telecommunications, Inc. (GRTI) was established on July 6, 1988.  GRTI is tribally owned and operated by the Gila River Indian Community providing telephone and other telecommunications services.  The Gila River Indian Community is located South of Phoenix AZ.

GRTI currently has over 4,200 lines, including business, residence, and private line circuits. Approximately 48% of these are business lines.  Other enhanced services offered by GRTI are dial-up Internet GilaNet, and Sothk-DSL (High Speed Internet).  General Manager, Michael Scully.

The Gila River Indian Community Public Information Office operates out of the new Governance Center in Sacaton Arizona.  The Gila River Indian Community is the largest indigenous community in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Community is the homeland for two distinct tribes, the Akimel O’odham (Pima) and the Pee-Posh (Maricopa).  The Gila River Indian Community is the largest indigenous community in the Phoenix, Arizona.  The Mul Chu Tha Fair is held annually in January. The Gila River Casinos are the sponsor for the Russell Moore Banquet which honors the Russell Moore Lifetime Achievement Award.  This years winner is Floyd “Buddy” Lewis from the Komatke Village (District 6) of the Gila River Indian Community.
